Another Alley Kat and Sherbrooke Liquor collaboration. This brew is a limited edition batch chosen from the portfolio of the winner of the annual Aurora Brewing Challenge. The 2009 winner was Bruce Sample, and he chose this Russian Imperial Stout to step up to the plate for him, renamed KGB for this commercial incarnation. KGB will be re-brewed each year, to commiserate the anniversary of the October Revolution, November 5, 1917.
$6.99/650 ml bottle
Every time we brew this, we use a new type of Chili Pepper so it's never the same beer twice! - $2.99/341 ml bottle
Brewed for us by our Friends at Alley Kat Brewing Company (5% Alc/Vol. 341 ml)
This is a collaboration between Alley Kat, The Lingnan and ourselves. Alley Kat celebrated their 15th Anniversary last year, and this is also the 15th beer they’ve brewed for us. This is the second beer we’ve done with the Lingnan. Two years ago, we collaborated on Pi Jiu, which was a ginseng infused Pilsner. This one, however, is modeled after a Belgian Wit, and is already an unqualified hit. Brewed with Orange Peel and Coriander, it makes a terrific summer beer.
From the darkest reaches of the Carpathian Mountains comes an elixir concocted by a man who stared into the true face of evil and lived to tell about it. Van Helsings’ All Natural Mouthwash is the cure for what ails you. It helps to ward off things that go bump in the night, and goes great with pasta! Fortunately the kind and talented folks at the Alley Kat Brewing Company were able to reproduce this miracle liquid for us decent citizens of Edmonton. And yes, that’s a whole garlic clove sitting there in the bottle. So much for keeping secret ingredients a secret..... - $3.99/bottle
Each year, Sherbrooke sponsors the winner of the EHG "HomeBrewer of the Year" - they get to pick a recipe, which we brew. The 2010 winners were Ray Duperron and Patrick Doyle. Ochsner will be re-brewed each year, to commemorate the anniversary of Alberta joing Confederation, September 1, 1905.
This robust porter starts with lots of chocolate and coffee up front followed by dried fruit. The finish is moderately sweet balanced with roasted malts and a lingering bitterness. - $16.99/6 pack
Brewed for us by our Friends at Alley Kat Brewing Company (5.6% Alc/Vol. 341 ml)
Ingredients: malt, water, hops, yeast

This beer ages spectacularly well so you may want to pick up a case right now, refrigerate it, and compare it with the batch we brew next year.

Ingredients: malt, water, hops, yeast, cherry extract and cocoa
Our own Pepin de Pomme is now available in store!

Heatseeker Coconut Curry
Several years ago, we began to honour the winning Home-Brewer from the EHG (Edmonton Home Brewers Guild) ABC (Aurora Brewing Challenge). The winner slected a recipe of theirs to be brewed commercially for us by Alley Kat. The first winner was Mark Nesdolly, who opted for his Coconut Curry Porter (the spice is VERY mild, FYI). This year, we have placed it into our rotation of seasonals. It has been brewed to observe the birthday of Mahatma Ghandi (which is October 2nd).
In celebration of their respective 10th anniversaries, Sherbrooke and Keg and Cork have collaborated with the world-class Dutch brewery De Molen to brew an exceptional one-of-a-kind beer. Going Dutch is an Imperial Porter brewed with a fine array of dark malts and the addition of katjes licorice candy drops. For added complexity, the beer was then aged in jenever barrels resulting in a wonderfully rich and flavourful array of roasted malts, dark fruit, caramel, and toffee.
The brainchild of Ernie Boffa, member of the Edmonton Home Brewers Guild, Udderly Vanilla is the newest Sherbrooke-exclusive beer brewed by Alley Kat. Brewed using lactose, coffee, and vanilla, Udderly Vanilla is an incredibly easy-drinking and well balanced stout. A creamy and smooth texture with robust and earthy coffee notes rounded out with a semi-sweet sweet undertone courtesy of the vanilla.
