Wine Futures (also known as "En Primeur") refers to the practice of buying wine after it is made, but before it is bottled. Cask samples of wines are made available for tasting to wine journalists and large wholesale buyers in the spring following, while the vintage is still in the barrel. The brokers pre-sell to the merchants, who then pre-sell the wine to their customers. The wine is generally bottled and shipped around two years later.

The advantage of this practice is that very often you are able to purchase premium wines at a considerably lower price than their eventual retail price will be after bottling. Conversely, in less spectacular years, one runs the risk of paying more than the price the bottle will finally command. Caveat Emptor.

The 2009 Vintage, which we are offering; is being hailed as the finest Vintage in decades. Whether you are looking to start or expand your wine cellar, these are excellent choices to make.

The wine is released in several tranches (A tranche being the term used to define the different releases of product) Typically, the price per bottle increases with each tranche. As well, not all wines are released at the same time, so each tranche contains many different selections.

Conditions:

Wine must be purchased in the case units shown, Although other case/bts configurations are available on many products upon request; (6 btsx750ml, 12x375ml, 3x1500ml, 6x1500ml, 1x3000ml and 6000ml.)

Unless otherwise noted, the price shown is for a single 750ml, and does not include gst.

Payment in full (minus gst) is due within 30 days of confirmation of your order.

Most wines are available spring 2012, except Sauternes.

When the wine arrives, you will pay the applicable gst and receive your bottles.
