SILENUS
Belgian Style Tripel - 355ml/$3.99
"The original Greek god of good times, Silenus was eventually retired into
the retinue of Dionysus, but he sure showed that kid a thing or two. The
drink of choice for Silenus was beer, and he held the power of prophecy
while under the influence (and he was always under the influence). For the
ultimate props gag he even gave King Midas the golden touch, although we
hear that didn't end very well." |

RAGUTIENE
Baltic Porter - 355ml/$4.99
"The Slavic peoples of Eastern Europe are a pretty diverse crowd, and their
collective pantheon of ancient gods covered a lot of territory regarding
daily life and the universe beyond. Unfortunately for us theirs was a
culture of oral traditions and as a result didn't leave much of a paper
trail to flesh out the faces and personalities behind the remaining deity
roll call that has survived. At least the fresh faced and rosy cheeked
goddess of beer Ragutiene hasn't been completely forgotten, and leaves a
smile on the lips of those who sip on her special creation. It may come as
no surprise that her darling husband Ragupatis is the god of fermentation,
forming a matrimonial power duo in the matters of liquid euphoria. Budmo!" |
